Asphalt Supervisor Townsville

A leading infrastructure services organisation is seeking an experienced Asphalt Supervisor to join their growing team in Townsville.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor with a strong asphalt background to take responsibility for leading crews, delivering high-quality outcomes, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to client expectations.

The Role

Reporting into the Department Manager and working closely with the Project Management team, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supervising asphalt crews to achieve safe, productive, and high-quality project outcomes.
  • Planning daily works, ensuring crews have a clear understanding of scope, safety requirements, and production targets.
  • Coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure works are delivered efficiently.
  • Managing site activities including safety, quality assurance, testing, traffic control, milling, line marking, and equipment requirements.
  • Monitoring workplace hazards, risks, and incidents while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Supporting toolbox meetings, pre-starts, and the implementation of SWMS and site procedures.
  • Ensuring works are completed within required timeframes and to project specifications.
About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Proven experience supervising asphalt crews within an infrastructure, civil construction, or roadworks environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage site teams.
  • A solid understanding of asphalt operations, production requirements, and safety standards.
  • The ability to plan and communicate daily works clearly with crews and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience interpreting basic contract requirements, specifications, and quality systems.
  • A valid driver’s licence and flexibility to work nights and weekends when required.
