Are you an ambitious Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step in your career with a growing property developer?

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll become an integral member of a close-knit finance team, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business and contributing to the delivery of accurate financial reporting.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting
  • Preparing journals, reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger
  • Bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
  • Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Supporting project accounting and development cost tracking
  • Preparing BAS, payroll tax and other statutory returns
  • Assisting with cash flow reporting and forecasting
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers
  • Supporting external auditors and tax advisers
  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and controls
  • Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support the wider business

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is eager to develop your career within the property sector.

Ideally you'll have:

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
  • Commenced or intending to commence CA or CPA studies
  • 2–4 years' accounting experience
  • Experience in property, construction or a project-based environment will be highly regarded
  • Strong Excel skills and exposure to accounting systems such as Xero, MYOB, NetSuite or similar
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
