About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and design-focused Associate Interior Designer to join a leading national design studio. Working across hospitality, residential and mixed-use projects, this role combines exceptional design leadership with project delivery expertise and team mentorship.

The Associate Interior Designer will play a key role in leading projects from concept through to completion, maintaining design excellence, managing client relationships and contributing to the growth and success of the Brisbane studio.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership

  • Lead the design and delivery of interior architecture and interior design projects.
  • Develop innovative design concepts that respond to client objectives and project requirements.
  • Ensure design outcomes align with studio standards and design philosophy.
  • Oversee the preparation of presentations, design documentation, material selections and specifications.
  • Review project outputs to ensure quality, consistency and technical accuracy.

Project Delivery

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously from briefing through construction completion.
  • Coordinate consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project programmes, budgets and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations and industry standards.
  • Support successful project delivery through all project phases.

Client Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Lead client presentations, workshops and design reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance client experience and project outcomes.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and client engagement activities.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

  • Mentor and support Interior Designers and Graduate Designers.
  • Provide guidance on design development, documentation and project delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive studio culture.
  • Assist with resource planning and project team management.

Business Development

  • Support proposal preparation, submissions and presentations.
  • Contribute to networking and industry engagement activities.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and new project opportunities.
  • Represent the studio within the broader design and property industry.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related discipline.
  • 12+ years' professional experience within a design consultancy or architecture practice.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality commercial, workplace, hospitality or residential projects.
  • Strong design, technical documentation and project management skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of Australian construction methodologies and building regulations.
