Role
Project leadership

  • Lead significant and potentially complex architectural projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Take responsibility for design quality, programme, documentation and client outcomes.
  • Provide senior-level oversight of project teams and review key deliverables.
  • Help resolve technical, design and coordination issues.

Client management

  • Develop long term client relationships and understand their commercial objectives.
  • Attend client meetings, presentations and project reviews.
  • Help turn existing relationships into repeat business.

Business development

  • Identify potential new opportunities.
  • Maintain relationships with developers, property owners, contractors and other industry contacts.
  • Assist with fee proposals, tenders and presentations.
  • Help win new projects.

Team leadership & mentoring

  • Mentoring staff.
  • Review design and documentation.
  • Help with resourcing and project allocation.
  • Provide studio leadership

Requirements

  • 15+ years' experience within the architectural industry, with significant project leadership experience.
  • New Zealand Registered Architect or clear eligibility for registration.
  • Proven experience leading complex architectural projects from concept through to completion.
  • Strong design capability and sound technical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Experience contributing to business development and winning new work.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of the New Zealand construction, consenting and regulatory environment.
  • Commercially astute with an understanding of project profitability, resourcing and practice performance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
