The Role

We are looking for a Civil Engineer with 5+ years of experience who is ready to take genuine ownership of their work.

This is not a role where you will simply be handed isolated design tasks. The successful candidate will be trusted with packages of civil work and given the autonomy to deliver them from start to finish.

You will work across complex land development and infrastructure projects, combining hands-on design with project coordination, client liaison, construction involvement and increasing project management responsibility.

Day to day, this could include:

• Taking ownership of civil design packages from concept through delivery
• Designing land development, roading and three waters infrastructure
• Coordinating projects across internal disciplines and external stakeholders
• Liaising directly with clients, contractors and councils
• Managing programmes, deliverables and project priorities
• Getting out to site and remaining involved through construction
• Taking on increasing responsibility for the project management of large-scale and complex developments

The opportunity is particularly well suited to someone who has reached the point where they no longer want to simply contribute to projects, but want to become the person trusted to drive them forward.

About You

You will ideally bring:

• 5+ years of civil engineering experience
• A Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent engineering qualification
• Strong New Zealand land development experience gained within a consultancy environment
• Good working knowledge of 12d
• The ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions
• Strong civil design capability
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• The ability to coordinate multiple parties and keep projects moving
• Practical understanding of construction and site delivery
