Redpath Partners have been exclusively engaged to find a talented civil foreman to join our client's growing civils team based out of Timaru with work across the Canterbury region.
Our client is a well-respected contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering a range of projects throughout for the commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors.
The opportunity
We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Foreman to oversee and coordinate civil site works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
The position will require you to lead from the front and be hands on with the work required of your crew. You will need to have experience operating excavators (1.7t - 20t) and other plant.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily civil construction activities, including earthworks, drainage, and foundations.
- Operate and support the use of civil machinery such as excavators, loaders, graders, rollers, and trucks, in line with your experience.
- Read and interpret civil drawings and set-out information, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain machinery, ensure safety protocols are followed, and contribute to a clean, organized, and safe site environment.
- Conduct quality checks to meet project specifications, highlighting issues early for prompt resolution.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and project managers to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Support ongoing training and skills development, including mentoring less experienced staff and apprentices.
- Experience leading a crew on civil construction projects
- Familiarity with GPS, laser levels, dumpy levels, or similar advanced equipment.
- A minimum of Class 2 licence & WTR Endorsements. Class 4 (or higher) is preferred.
- Steady consistent workload of varied projects
- Time & half after 45 hours worked in the week
