Redpath Partners is partnering with a specialised blast and coating facility for a major Australian defence shipbuilding program.

We are recruiting a Cost Controller to lead the multidisciplinary design delivery of complex industrial and infrastructure projects.

Working within a high-performing project team, you'll play a key role in managing project costs, forecasting performance and providing transparent financial reporting on a large-scale, complex construction project.

About the Role

Reporting into the commercial team, you will be responsible for:
  • Establishing and maintaining project cost management systems, cost breakdown structures and project baselines.
  • Capturing, coding and reconciling project costs, including labour, subcontractors, plant, equipment and expenses.
  • Administering schedule of rates and supporting open-book commercial reporting.
  • Preparing monthly cost reports, forecasts (EAC/ETC), accruals and variance analysis.
  • Supporting client invoicing and cost substantiation.
  • Monitoring subcontractor and supplier commitments, accruals and payments against budgets.
  • Assisting with earned value reporting and progress measurement alongside the planning team.
  • Providing accurate financial information to support key commercial decisions.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
  • 5+ years' experience in project cost control across construction, infrastructure, mining, resources or defence projects.
  • Experience working within open-book or schedule of rates commercial environments (highly regarded).
  • Strong forecasting, budgeting, accrual and variance analysis skills.
  • Experience supporting audits, cost verification or client reporting.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • AIQS, AACE or similar professional membership (desirable).
Applicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government (AGSVA) Security Clearance.
