Design Manager job in Architecture & Design in Sydney

The Design Manager role is responsible for leading and overseeing the full design lifecycle across complex, city-shaping developments.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing consultant procurement and tendering processes, including the development of scopes of services, preparation of contract documentation, and leading contract negotiations through to execution.
Driving the development and ongoing management of project design programs, briefs, and design requirements, ensuring alignment with cost plans, budgets, and overall project milestones.
Maintaining strong integration between design, construction, and development teams, identifying opportunities for value optimisation and proactively managing risk across all stages of design delivery.
Overseeing design coordination from concept through to construction and completion, ensuring quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and buildability. This includes managing design consultants, facilitating design meetings, and driving timely decision-making across key stakeholders.
Playing a key role in embedding innovation, digital engineering, and Safety in Design principles, while continuously improving systems, processes, and project outcomes.
Providing strong leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial oversight to successfully deliver complex, high-profile developments.
