Company
A specialist project management and advisory consultancy operating within the construction and property sector, supporting projects from early concept through to completion. This is a rare opportunity to join their Auckland team and play a key role in the successful delivery of high-profile developments.

The Role
You’ll provide leadership across the design function, managing consultant outputs and aligning project documentation with timelines, budgets, and the construction program. This is a dynamic role requiring close collaboration with stakeholders and internal teams to ensure high standards of coordination, safety, and delivery.

Your responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate consultants to ensure quality design documentation is delivered on time and within budget
  • Drive compliance with project briefs, statutory requirements, and construction standards
  • Manage the full design program – including BIM coordination, approvals, and construction alignment
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, emergency services, and utility providers
  • Drive value management, safety in design, and constructability reviews with the delivery team
  • Maintain project registers
  • Support bids and tenders with scope reviews and design strategy input
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and internal departments to ensure smooth project handover
Requirements: 
  • Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering
  • Proven experience in design management for large-scale projects 
  • Confident managing consultants and external design teams
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to challenge for best-for-project outcomes
  • A flexible and solutions-focused attitude
