An exciting opportunity has come up with a Tier 2 head contractor to support a large-scale, iconic project in Sydney. We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join on a short-term contract, starting immediately.
This role will see you working closely with leading consultant teams to drive the development of concept design across multiple project streams, ensuring design outcomes are aligned with client expectations, program requirements, and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:- Leading consultant teams to develop concept design across multiple projects
- Coordinating with architects, engineers, and other consultants to ensure alignment with client requirements and regulatory standards (NCC, BCA, BASIX, etc.)
- Liaising with planning authorities and other approval stakeholders
- Developing and managing design programmes
- Overseeing consultant budgets and working closely with construction and cost planning teams to ensure design feasibility
- Managing design timelines, reviewing documentation for quality and compliance, facilitating approvals, and ensuring designs are practical for construction
You will bring strong experience in design management on large-scale building projects, ideally within Tier 1 or Tier 2 environments. You’re confident coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing competing priorities, and driving outcomes in a fast-paced project environment.
