An opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join a highly regarded property owner and developer delivering large-scale retail, mixed-use and shopping centre projects across Australia.
Working within a high-performing development and project delivery team, this role will take ownership of the end-to-end management of complex capital works, refurbishments, redevelopments and retail infrastructure projects across a nationally significant portfolio.
This position is suited to a commercially minded Project Manager who enjoys working across live operational environments and managing multiple stakeholder groups while driving project outcomes around cost, programme, quality and risk. The ideal candidate will come from a strong head contractor background and may have recently transitioned to a head contractor.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the delivery of retail, shopping centre and mixed-use development projects from feasibility through to completion
- Coordinate consultants, contractors and authority stakeholders across all project phases
- Drive programme, procurement and construction delivery outcomes
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, reporting and cost control processes
- Oversee contractor performance, construction quality and WHS compliance
- Work closely with internal development, leasing, asset management and operations teams
- Lead stakeholder communication across tenants, centre management and external partners
- Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring minimal disruption to live trading environments
- Prepare project reporting for senior leadership and investment stakeholders
- Proven experience delivering retail, shopping centre, or mixed-use projects
- Background from either client-side, developer, consultancy or head contractor environments (Head contractor experience is necessary)
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, procurement and project controls
- Experience managing projects within live operational assets highly regarded
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Commercially astute with strong budgeting and contract administration capability
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Property, Engineering, Architecture or related discipline
