This is your chance to be part of a team building blasting and coating facilities that power shipyards, industrial plants, and defence infrastructure. You’ll design everything from main power runs and distribution systems to the controls that keep the facilities running safely and efficiently.
The Role
As the Electrical Engineer, you will:
- Design 400/415 V AC power distribution systems, heavy-load feeders, and large-facility electrical layouts.
- Specify and design electrical and controls systems for industrial blasting and coating facilities.
- Produce schematics, panel layouts, and detailed electrical documentation in AutoCAD.
- Ensure all designs meet AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), AS/NZS 60079 (hazardous areas), WHS legislation and other Australian compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and SMEs to integrate electrical systems into overall facility design.
- Support procurement and vendors to ensure components meet standards and specifications.
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at project sites.
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial or large-facility projects.
- Strong background in heavy power design (main feeders, distribution systems, and high-load equipment).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or NER registration preferred.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore a plus.
- Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 60079 (hazardous areas / Ex), IECEx certification requirements and related Australian codes.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
