Company
Redpath Partners are representing a growing and well-established construction business in Auckland that is continuing to build momentum across a diverse range of projects. Operating across commercial, industrial, retail, education, healthcare, aged-care and residential sectors, the business has developed a reputation for reliable delivery with a proven track record.

With an increasing pipeline of secured and upcoming work, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with the addition of an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor who can contribute across both pre-construction and project delivery.
Role
This is a broad, hands on role offering exposure across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage estimating through to final account. You’ll work closely with the Commercial Director, QS team, Project Managers, Site teams, and external stakeholders, playing a key role in ensuring projects are commercially well-managed and delivered within budget.

The role will suit someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and is confident operating across both estimating and QS responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
  • Preparing cost estimates, tender submissions, and take-offs from drawings and specifications
  • Managing subcontractor procurement including RFQs, pricing analysis, and negotiations
  • Developing cost plans, budgets, and ongoing financial forecasting
  • Administering contracts in line with NZS 3910, 3916 and 3917
  • Managing variations, progress claims, and payment schedules
  • Monitoring project costs, cashflow, and reporting on financial performance
  • Identifying risks, buildability challenges, and value engineering opportunities
  • Supporting projects through to final account and commercial close-out
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the New Zealand commercial construction market
  • Background in Quantity Surveying or Estimating within a contractor environment
  • Strong understanding of NZ construction contracts and procurement processes
  • Confident managing project costs and working across multiple stakeholders
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
This role will suit candidate looking to broaden their exposure and step into a more well-rounded commercial position.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary aligned with experience and capability
  • Exposure to a wide variety of project sectors and project scales
  • Opportunity to develop under experienced senior leadership
  • Growing business with strong long-term career potential
  • Collaborative team environment with a focus team culture, development and progression
