This is one of those opportunities that rarely comes to market.
Our client is a high-growth property funds management and investment business, backed by one of the world's largest global asset managers. Combining institutional capital with the agility of an entrepreneurial platform, the business is entering an exciting phase of expansion with a significant investment pipeline and ambitious growth plans.
Reporting directly to a highly regarded CEO—an influential leader and recognised voice within Australia's property investment industry—you will become the finance leader of the business, partnering with the executive team to help shape its next chapter.
Initially operating as the standalone finance lead, you'll have the mandate to build and develop a high-performing finance team as new funds are launched and assets under management continue to grow.
This is an exceptional opportunity if you are looking to make a step up into your first FC role, as well as established Finance Managers and Controller from the industry, looking to step into a broader leadership role with genuine influence across investment, operations and strategy.
The CEO has earmarked this role to be the future CFO and will have that front of mind in someone’s potential as part of the interview process. So only ambitious finance candidates should apply.
Working across a very niche and specific property funds platform, your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading all financial control, reporting and governance across multiple property investment funds.
  • Preparing statutory and management reporting for funds and corporate entities.
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
  • Developing and maintaining sophisticated fund models, cash flow forecasts and investment reporting.
  • Overseeing fund accounting and managing relationships with external fund administrators.
  • Coordinating investor reporting, financial due diligence and responding to investor requests.
  • Supporting capital raisings, acquisitions, new fund launches and investment transactions.
  • Establishing scalable finance processes, controls and reporting frameworks to support growth.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Recruiting, mentoring and leading the finance team as the platform expands.
You will need to be commercially minded, technically strong and excited by the opportunity to build from scratch, rather than inherit.
You'll ideally bring:
  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • Experience within property funds management, real estate investment, private equity, REITs or institutional investment management.
  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting, fund structures and funds administration.
  • Experience preparing fund financial models, budgets and forecasts.
  • Exposure to investor reporting and institutional stakeholder management.
  • Excellent financial reporting, technical accounting and control experience.
  • The confidence to operate autonomously while partnering with senior executives and external investors.
This is a rare opportunity to move beyond a traditional Financial Controller position and become a key leader within one of Australia's emerging property investment platforms.
Please apply to make your interest known.
