Package:$150k-$200k package depending on level of experience
The Role:
Reporting directly into the COO, you will be the sole internal HSE specialist for our client who specialise offer end to end interiors therefore candidates must have experience in D&C fit outs to be successful in this role. You will work closely with the external HSEQ consultants ensuring consistent improvement of processes and systems. National travel will be required.
You will partner with leaders, project teams and support functions to embed health, safety, environmental and quality requirements into everyday decision making, project delivery and site operations.
Your duties and responsibilities as HSEQ Business Partner:
- Partner with external HSEQ consultants and internal leaders to monitor business readiness, identify gaps, prepare for annual audits and ensure audit findings are translated into timely, practical actions.
- Partner with the business to implement and continuously improve the HSEQ Management System
- Partner with project teams and leaders to apply HSEQ procedures, risk controls, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), site safety plans and environmental controls in a practical and consistent way.
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and lessons learned processes, ensuring leaders understand and action required controls.
- Undertake and coordinate site inspections, workplace observations and audits; provide clear insights on findings and track corrective actions through to close-out.
- Maintain training, licence, competency, plant, equipment, SDS and inspection registers, escalating gaps or overdue actions as required.
- Support project teams to apply quality procedures, inspection and test requirements, defect management processes and client quality obligations
- Partner with pre-construction teams to support tender, submission and client prequalification responses by providing accurate HSEQ information, evidence, insights and supporting documentation.
- Track HSEQ actions, audit outcomes and improvement initiatives to help reduce risk, rework, incidents, claims and non-conformances.
- Partner with external HSEQ consultants and leaders to support internal and external audits against ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements, including readiness planning, evidence collection, leader preparation and action tracking.
- Proven experience in design and construction fit out projects- interior fit out experience is essential
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, construction safety requirements and practical risk management in site-based environments.
- Experience partnering with leaders and project teams to deliver HSEQ, WHS, compliance, quality or project safety outcomes in a design, construction, fit-out, engineering or related project environment.
- Practical capability across risk assessments, SWMS, incident reporting and investigations, inspections, audits, corrective actions, claims management and document control.
- Ability to translate HSEQ data, audit findings and incident trends into practical insights and actions for business leaders.
