HSE Coordinator

Overview

Redpath Partners is partnering with a specialised blast and coating facility supporting a major Australian defence shipbuilding program. We are recruiting an HSE Coordinator to drive safety across complex industrial and infrastructure projects.

Are you a hands-on HSE professional who wants to keep people safe on a project that genuinely matters? A rapidly expanding global leader in the Industrial Corrosion Control Industry is looking for an Adelaide-based HSE Coordinator to drive safety across a major industrial facility program supporting naval shipbuilding and defence infrastructure in Adelaide, South Australia. From safety in design through installation and commissioning, you will be the person who makes safe delivery real on the ground.
 

The Role

As an HSE Coordinator, you will:

  • Implement, maintain and continuously improve the project WHS management plan and supporting procedures.
  • Review and verify subcontractor safe work method statements (SWMS) for high-risk construction work.
  • Coordinate site inductions, training records, and licence and competency verification.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and observations; track corrective actions to closure.
  • Lead or support incident reporting, investigation and notification, including regulator notifications where required.
  • Support safety in design reviews, HAZOP participation and risk workshops during design phases.
  • Maintain HSE registers including hazards, incidents, chemicals/SDS and training.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HSE experience on construction, industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of the model WHS legislation as applied in South Australia, including high-risk construction work requirements.
  • Experience reviewing SWMS and coordinating subcontractor safety on live sites.
  • Incident investigation experience; ICAM or equivalent methodology preferred.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum); Diploma of WHS preferred.
  • General Construction Induction (White Card) required.
  • First Aid certificate required.
  • ICAM Lead Investigator training preferred.

Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government (AGSVA) security clearance. This role supports major naval and defence infrastructure projects delivered from Adelaide, South Australia.
