Due to strong project pipelines and continued demand across the Christchurch market, Redpath Partners is working with several well-regarded engineering consultancies looking to grow their civil teams.
These businesses vary in size, structure and project focus, offering the opportunity to explore different team environments, project scales and career pathways.
Whether you are looking for greater technical exposure, stronger mentorship, more responsibility or a clearer progression pathway, we can help identify which opportunity may suit you best.
The Roles
Depending on the consultancy, you could work across residential, commercial or industrial developments, including subdivisions ranging from smaller infill projects through to complex, large-scale, greenfield developments.
You may be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through consenting, detailed design and construction delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Civil design across land development and infrastructure projects
- Earthworks, roading and three waters design
- Stormwater, wastewater and water-supply infrastructure
- Preparing calculations, drawings, reports and consent documentation
- Supporting projects through council approval and construction
- Liaising with clients, councils, contractors and other consultants
- Collaborating with planners, surveyors, engineers and other technical specialists
- Managing your own workload while contributing to the wider project team
You will be a capable Civil Engineer looking to continue developing your technical skills and take on greater project responsibility within the Christchurch market.
You’ll likely bring:
- Approximately two to six years of civil engineering experience
- A relevant civil engineering qualification
- Experience across land development, civil infrastructure or three waters
- Working knowledge of 12d or Civil 3D
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive attitude and the ability to learn quickly
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
However, you do not need to tick every box. If you have at least two years of relevant experience, communicate well and are a capable, fast learner, I would still be very interested in hearing from you.
