Redpath Partners is partnering with a specialised blast and coating facility supporting a major Australian defence shipbuilding program. We are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver complex mechanical systems for large-scale industrial infrastructure projects.

This is an opportunity to work on highly specialised industrial facilities, designing ventilation, dust collection and abrasive recovery systems from concept through to commissioning. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and see your designs become operational on nationally significant defence and industrial projects.

The Role
As the Mechanical Engineer, you will:
  • Develop mechanical designs, layouts and specifications for blast and paint facility systems, including ventilation, dust collection and abrasive recovery. 
  • Prepare engineering calculations, datasheets, technical drawings and project documentation. 
  • Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 4114 and relevant WHS requirements.
  • Coordinate mechanical interfaces with electrical, controls, structural and facility design teams. 
  • Support equipment selection, vendor technical evaluations and procurement activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies and constructability workshops.
  • Provide technical support during project delivery, installation and commissioning.
About You
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years' experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions for industrial facilities, HVAC, ventilation systems or process plants.
  • Strong understanding of airflow, ducting design, industrial ventilation, fans and dust collection systems.
  • Experience producing engineering documentation to Australian Standards.
  • Exposure to installation and commissioning of mechanical plant is highly regarded.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or NER registration is advantageous.
  • Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government (AGSVA) Security Clearance.
