The opportunity
Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of multiple civil construction projects.
You will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from tender preparation and project planning through to delivery, financial management and client reporting.
The role requires a commercially minded engineer who can balance project performance, stakeholder relationships, programme delivery and financial outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from tender award through to practical completion.
- Monitor project programmes and ensure works are delivered on time and to specification.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Manage project budgets, cost control and financial forecasting.
- Track project performance and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Contribute to business improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
- Promoting a strong health and safety culture across all sites.
- Conducting site audits, hazard identification and risk management activities.
- Championing environmental best practice and sustainable construction methods.
The requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the civil construction industry.
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing civil construction projects.
- Strong understanding of project controls, cost reporting and programme management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.
- A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
