Join a growing and established property development and construction group at the start their next phase of growth. Due to active projects and a healthy pipeline of future projects the group are looking to add a Senior Accountant to their finance structure.

Reporting to the CFO, this is a broad, hands-on role responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations while supporting financial reporting and finance activities across the group.

This opportunity will suit a strong Senior Accountant or experienced Accounts Manager seeking a varied role with exposure across both transactional and financial accounting within a fast-paced property environment. Key responsibilities include;

Financial Reporting & Accounting
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting reporting packs
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare journals and investigate reporting variances
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Support project, development and entity-level reporting

Accounts Operations
  • Oversee day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Manage invoicing, payment processing and collections
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and related accounting schedules
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing across all finance operations

Compliance & Controls
  • Preparation and lodgement support for BAS, GST and statutory reporting obligations
  • Assist in managing external audit requirements and year-end processes
  • Maintain and improve financial controls and accounting processes
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and reporting requirements

Stakeholder & Business Support
 
  • Work closely with development, project and operational teams
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and systems enhancements
  • Provide timely financial information and support to senior management

About you:
  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards completion
  • 4+ years' accounting experience, ideally within property, development, construction or related industries
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting processes
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel capability
  • Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and an ability to manage competing priorities
