Redpath Partners is exclusively representing a well-established construction and consultancy business in Queenstown, seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The role
You will be responsible for supporting the commercial management of projects across the full lifecycle, including procurement, cost control, financial reporting, and contract administration. Working under the guidance of a General Manager and Project Director, you will contribute directly to project profitability, financial accuracy, and timely commercial outcomes.
This role suits a proactive and detail focused Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working as part of a high performing project team and is looking to build strong foundations in commercial and contractual management within the high-end fit-out sector.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing accurate monthly cost reports, forecasts to complete, and cashflow updates
- Assisting with head contract claims and checking subcontractor progress claims
- Managing variation registers and supporting commercial negotiations
- Drafting and administering subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, and contract registers
- Supporting procurement activities, including tender analysis and trade award recommendations
- Monitoring project budgets, identifying risks to margin, and proposing mitigation strategies
- Reviewing supplier invoices against budgets and purchase orders
- Supporting compliance with NZS3910 and other relevant contract conditions
- Maintaining clear and accurate commercial records and documentation
- Working closely with the project team, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure transparent financial communication
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- 6+ years experience as a Commercial Quantity Surveyor in NZ or AUS
- Working knowledge of NZS3910
- Experience working for either a commercial main contractor or fit-out/refurbishment specialist
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Clear and professional communication style with clients and subcontractors
