Redpath Partners are representing a highly successful NZ owned civil contractor who have a strong track record across the Canterbury region. Due to current project demands they have created a new position for an experienced Site Supervisor.

With a strong pipeline of land development projects, this role offers the opportunity to lead project teams, influence business performance, and play a pivotal role in shaping the careers of others within the business.

If you're a hands-on Project Manager who wants to focus on delivery or a Site Supervisor looking for more responsibility the this is a position to consider. 

The opportunity

Working closely with senior operational leaders, you'll oversee the successful delivery of civil construction projects while providing leadership and support to Contract Managers and project teams across the region.

You'll be accountable for project performance, operational excellence, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

This role suits someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with a hands-on presence in the field and takes genuine pride in developing people.

The responsibilities
  • Support the successful delivery of civil construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives are consistently achieved.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and technical support to site teams, helping build capability across the business.
  • Identify operational risks early and implement practical solutions that improve project delivery and minimise commercial exposure.
  • Monitor project performance against key business metrics, using data and reporting to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Champion high standards across health, safety, environmental compliance and quality while maintaining a visible presence on project sites.
  • Promote consistency in project delivery by sharing knowledge, improving systems and encouraging best practice across teams.
The requirements 
  • Significant experience delivering complex civil infrastructure or land development projects.
  • Proven leadership experience on project delivery.
  • A knowledge of commercial outcomes and the process involved with managing budgets, forecasting and contract performance.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand construction practices, compliance requirements and health and safety legislation
