Reporting to the State General Manager, you'll take ownership of project delivery, team leadership, client relationships and business growth while helping shape the future direction of a growing consultancy. This role suits an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer looking to step beyond project delivery into a broader leadership position with genuine commercial influence.
The Role
As the Structural Manager, you will:
- Lead the delivery and commercial performance of the Structural Engineering team.
- Manage team resources, project workloads and forecasting to maximise project outcomes.
- Build and strengthen relationships with clients, architects, developers and contractors.
- Drive business development, proposals and work-winning opportunities.
- Mentor and develop engineers while fostering a high-performing team culture.
- Oversee technical quality, project governance and compliance with Australian Standards.
- Act as Project Manager and Technical Lead on key projects while contributing to the strategic growth of the Melbourne office.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng).
- 10+ years' experience within a structural engineering consultancy.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and delivering complex buildings projects.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in project performance, forecasting and business development.
- Established client relationships and a track record of winning repeat work.
- Passion for mentoring engineers and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Lead and grow an established structural engineering team.
